I have come across some posts and heard of some people advising others to not take advice from those who are divorced, to only take advice from individuals who are in a successful marriage.
I find this quite interesting because would these same individuals who advise this, refuse to accept any knowledge that came from the wives of RasoolAllah ﷺ (May Allah be pleased with them all), many of whom were divorced prior to marrying RasoolAllah ﷺ?
Being divorced does not mean that an individual is unable to offer beneficial & potentially life changing wisdoms. Often, these divorcees have learned so much through their journey's & can assist people in ways that we may not even fathom.
Of course it is great to understand what has made a particular couples marriage successful but likewise, a divorcee may have been successful in their marriage in a different way
Just some food for thought.
May Allah allow us to take the good from wherever we can and protect & avert us from any bad that comes our way. May we be of genuine benefit to the Ummah of RasoolAllah ﷺ and assist each other in proximity to Him and His Beloved ﷺ. After all, that is what it is all about!
Peace.
